Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights
On February 20, BAIL partnered with Amnesty International to host a salon dinner on the topic of Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights. BAIL and Amnesty brought together 20 experts and peers from the technology and human rights spaces for an off-the-record conversation on efforts to develop ethical principles for AI.
The dinner was hosted at the home of Danielle Cass, Director of the Silicon Valley Initiative for Amnesty International, who previously established USAID's first Silicon Valley presence. The group was also joined by Sherif Elsayed-Ali, Head of Technology and Human Rights at Amnesty International, who provided a briefing on new projects that apply machine learning to document war crimes and detect online abuse against women.
